Car Rental In Slovenia

The Republic of Slovenia has a population of 2 million, the capital is Ljubljana. There is a wide variety of landscapes in the country: Alpine, Mediterranean, Pannonian and Dinaric. The biggest international airport is Ljubljana airport - the busiest airport in the country with connections to many major European cities. It is near Brnik, and also near the capital, Ljubljana. Additionally, there are two little airports in Maribor and Portoroz. After you arrive in Slovenia, you can pick up car hire at Ljubljana airport and continue your trip with ease and comfort.

The main landmark of the capital of 280,000 inhabitants, the Ljubljana Castle was constructed in 1144. It features a Gothic gate and a chapel. The river Ljubljanica flows through Ljubljana. The city's main architectural landmarks are St. Nicholas Cathedral, St. Peter's Church, the Franciscan Church of the Annunciation on the Preseren Square, the Triple Bridge from 1931, and the eye-popping Dragon Bridge, which was constructed in 1900. The Tivoli Park is the largest park in the capital. The park was constructed in the 19th century, it cover an area of approximately 5 km2. It has 3 main avenues, planted with chestnut-trees. The park features different types of trees, flower gardens, several statues, and fountains.
The old city is made up of two districts: one includes Ljubljana town hall and the principal architectural works; the other, the neighbourhood of the Chevaliers de la Croix, features the Ursuline church, the philharmonic society building (1702) and the Cankar Hall. Two major earthquakes hit the city in 1511 and 1895, almost the whole city was rebuilt after them.
Car hire in Slovenia is convenient for those who want to explore the countryside. The Prekmurje region features landmarks, that include the Lendva Castle, Szapary Castle, Nadasdy Castle. Parts of the mind-bogglingly beautiful Orseg-Raba-Goricko Nature Park are in Austria and Hungary. The Saint Michael Church in Selo was put up in the 13th century in the Roman Style. The paintings in the dome show Christ standing on a rainbow. The Battyhany Castle features a park and a horse complex.

The Castle and the Lake of Bled are in the Gorenjska region. These landmarks are within an hour driving distance. The castle  is a seat of the archbishop, it is 800 years old. The Triglav Peak in the Julian Alps is the highest point of the country, it is also a popular tourist destination.  Even  for those who are not car hier fans, car rental on Bled is worth the money, because is great starting point for a day trip to lake Bohinj lake and Alpean region. On the other hand and opposite direction from Gorenjska region  - there is  Karst famous for two caves -  the most famous among them is the mind-blowing Postojnska jama drip-stone cave. These caves are made of limestone, an organic sediment which accumulated in the bed of the ancient seas. A little railway was constructed in the cave. The Skocjan cave system is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Book your car hire in Slovenia and visit all beautiful places.
For those who are already located at Slovenian coast and get a desire to explore the coastal region, car hire in Portoroz is available. The hills around the Maribor, are famous for their wine. Although Slovenes like to consume most of the wine they produce, brands like Lutomer have made their appearance abroad. The north-eastern part of the country is particularly rich in spa towns, Rogaska Slatina is the most important. More than half of the state is covered by forest.
There's a good infrastructure and a modern highway system in Slovenia. The two centres are the capital Ljubljana and Maribor. In the last decade, 400 km of highways were constructed, providing car transport across the country and providing an advanced road network between eastern and western Europe. Avtocesta are dual carriageway highways with a speed limit of 130 km/h. They have green road signs as in Italy, Croatia and other countries nearby. The well maintained highway system makes car hire in Slovenia a good choice.
